Midfielder Alhassan Yusuf has dismissed fears of injury, assuring Super Eagles supporters that he would be fit for Thursday’s African Cup of Nations make or mar clash against host Cote d’Ivoire.
Yusuf, a late replacement for Wilfred Ndidi, was a delight to watch in the game against Equatorial Guinea with his box-to-box runs, but he was replaced by Joe Aribo in the 69th minute sparking injury concerns.
But speaking during an interview the Royal Antwerp of Belgium player said: It’s nothing serious, it is just a cramp.
“I will be fine for Thursday.”
Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro is also optimistic Yusuf, making his first competitive debut for the national team, will be fit for the next game.
“Alhassan had a very good match. He demonstrated that he deserves to play for the Super Eagles.
“He would be fit for the next match. You always want your best players to be available.”
