Super Eagles attacker, Sadiq Umar to the surprise of many Nigerians fans has returned to training with his Spanish club and would be available for selection this weekend, after he was declared unfit to continue in the African Cup of Nations.
Umar received a knock during the Super Eagles training match against Guinea in Dubai, and according to the national team doctors, he would be out of action for three weeks. He was quickly replaced by Paul Onuachu.
However, Real Sociedad posted a video of the player training with the rest of the squad ahead of their LaLiga game against Celta Vigo this weekend.
Umar had indicated that he would be fine and had travelled with the team to Cote d’Ivoire, but was shocked to learn from coach Jose Peseiro that he would no longer be needed based on doctors recommendation.
Meanwhile Terem Moffi joined the team’s training Monday in Abidjan. He was a late replacement for injured Victor Boniface.
