Angola coach Pedro Goncalves’ major concern ahead of Friday’s quarter-final clash against Nigeria’s Super Eagles is how to stop the duo of Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
The duo remained a pain in the neck for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, in their round of 16 clash and ultimately sending the Rigobert Song side crashing out. Lookman, who scored a brace in the game, seems to have struck a good understanding with Osimhen. In their first game against Equatorial Guinea, his pinpoint cross was headed home by Osimhen.
Speaking ahead of the game Goncalves said the quality of the Nigerian players is without doubt and he is much aware of the havoc they can cause.
“I myself, in the FIFA votes, also voted for him (Osimhen) as one of the best players in the world, so we will play against a selection equipped with players with a lot of talent, who have tremendous, mind-blowing playing capacity, a lot of speed, especially derived from of the two forwards, Osimhen and Lookman, who, in fact, add great vertigo to the game,” Goncalves said in a chat with Sapo Desportovo.
