Kidnappers who seized pupils and teachers of The Apostolic Faith Montessori School in Emure Ekiti are asking for a total of N100m ransom to free their victims.
The families of the five kids have been contacted and have been asked to pay N10m each to collect their children back. They were kidnapped along with four teachers and the school bus driver Tuesday on their way home from school.
Meanwhile the Amotekun security network has deployed about 100 officers to join the Ekiti State Police Command in their search and rescue efforts. It was gathered that Ondo State governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa approved the deployment.
” The governor of our dear state, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa has ordered that we deploy Amotekun personnel to work with their counterpart in Ekiti to secure the release of the pupils and arrest the killers of the monarchs,” said Adetunji Adeleye, Amoteku commander in Ondo State.
“A couple of hours ago, we had an unfortunate incident in Ekiti and the governor of Ondo State directed us to move in the interest of brotherliness to assist in the security situation in Ekiti State. We deployed 100 personnel to assist Ekiti command.
“Governor Oyebanji said security is being stepped up across the state with a view to flushing out criminal elements from their hideouts,” the government added.
“While calling on the citizens to remain calm and vigilant, he urged them to cooperate with security agencies, by making available relevant information to the authorities.”
