Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro said he has received a lot of offers after he led Nigeria to a second place finish at the 2024 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Peseiro led the Super Eagles into the final where they lost 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire, it was their only loss of the tournament, which most Nigerian fans didn’t expect them to reach.
But now Peseiro may be on his way out as he confirmed that Algeria and other nations have made contact with him and his agent is working out the best option. His contract with the Nigeria Football Federation expires at the end of the month
“I’ve received a lot of offers after the African Cup final,” Peseiro told El Hayat TV Channel.
” I received an offer from the FAF but I will first rest and my agent will take care of it.”
The 63-year-old Portuguese is keen to stay with the Super Eagles and lead the team to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but he is worried about the delays in the payment of his salary and also payment of his assistants. This has become a talking point as he negotiates a new contract extension with the NFF.
