Comic Nollywood actor John Okafor a.k.a Mr. Ibu, has succumb to death at the age of 62.
Mr. Ibu who had been battling with illness leading to the amputation of his leg in October 2023 died Saturday afternoon after he suffered a cardiac arrest during the week and was rushed to to the Evercare Hospital, where he passed.
Mr. Ibu had shown signs of recovery after his surgery, but his demise rattled many of his fans and colleagues. His family is been awaited to provide more details concerning his death.
Actors Guild of Nigeria president Emeka Rollas writing on his Facebook page said
According to Rollas, “Sad day for Actors Guild of Nigeria.
“Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years, Mr Don Single Nwuzor.
“I announce with (a) deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it.”
Mr. Ibu’s death is coming a day after Nollywood was hit with the news of Sisi Quadri a comic actor.
