Pakistan in chase of terrorists have launched targeted attacks in Afghanistan and the caretaker Taliban government has summoned the Pakistani charge d’ affaires in Kabul to register their displeasure.
According to a ministry statement, the Taliban condemned the attacks and urged the Pakistani government to refrain from “irresponsible measures” and “wrong policies” that could further complicate relations between the two countries.
Eight civilians, all of them women and children, were killed in airstrikes by Pakistan’s military in the border regions of Afghanistan at around 3:00 a.m. Monday local time, prompting Afghan forces to retaliate against Pakistani military outposts with “heavy weapons,” Taliban officials said.
Pakistan confirmed the strikes but said its security forces conducted the intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district on the reported presence of terrorists. Agency reports
