Senate president Godswill Akpabio has hinted that Senator Abdul Ningi could return to National Assembly after he was suspended earlier this month.
Senator Ningi of the People Democratic Party Bauchi Central, was suspended after he raised dust on alleged budget padding to the tune of N3.7 trillion by the Senate.
On Thursday Humans Rights advocate and constitutional lawyer Femi Falani SAN, had written to the Senate president to recall Ningi or face legal action.
Speaking on the development Friday to reporters in Abuja Akpabio hinted that the door has been opened for Ningi’s return, Falani’s letter notwithstanding.
“It is a parliamentary decision,” said Akpabio.
” I have not seen Falana’s letter yet. But Senator Ningi is one of us. I mean what is suspension?
“I believe that in a few days he will join us. So, there is no problem. It would be resolved amicably. The Senate is a family.”
