Fresh from a nine day police detention ordeal, social commentator, Martins Otse a.k.a VeryDarkMan, said he is preparing to go into crossdressing since the police refused to arrest Bobrisky.
VeryDarkMan was picked up by police after he alleged that Bobrisky a transgender was in bed with politicians, and that’s why he/she has the freedom to roam around as a crossdresser.
“Since the police say crossdressing is legal, I wll soon start crossdressing. I will give them one week after I drop my petition against Bobrisky.
” If Bobrisky is not arrested, I will become a crossdresser and use the female restroom.”
Nigeria Police Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said during an interview on Channels TV that cross-dressing is not an offence in Nigeria.
“I have not read anywhere that crossdressing is an offence in Nigeria…. Let us be reasonable, you cannot arrest somebody you want to prosecute without having credible evidence and as such, crossdressing is not yet a crime in Nigeria.
“Some of them who are into cross dressing, the allegation is that they are into something else, that’s where the problem lies.
“We need to have enough proof that they are actually into ‘that’. All those offences are natural offences in Nigeria and they are punishable under our laws,” Adejobi stressed
