Embattled monarch of Ewu Kingdom, Clement Ikolo regained his freedom after being released Friday by the Nigerian army that kept him detained for three weeks in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama community, Ughelli South Local government area of Delta State.
Mr. Ikolo was released to Senator Ede Dafinone representing Delta Central during a press conference in Abuja. Senator Ned Nwoko Delta North and Senator Joel Onowakpo-Thomas were also present.
The three Senators had met with the Chief of Army Staff Christopher Musa to press for the release of the monarch who distance himself from the slaying of the soldiers.
Mr. Ikolo who was reunited with his family members was in good health and has pledged to make himself available whenever he was need by the army in their on-going investigations into the gruesome murder of the soldiers and also civilians.
He was declared wanted by the army alongside six others. Mr. Ikolo voluntarily turned himself in and was flown to Abuja for interrogations.
