All is now set for the inaugural meeting of the World Taekwondo Organisation Nigeria chapter billed for Lagos on Friday 3, 2024.
The meeting will focus on how to smoothly run the operation of the WTO in Nigeria as well as suggest ideas on how to make the sport of Taekwondo popular in the country. The event will start at 4.00pm at the Purple Crown Hotel off Obafemi Awolowo Way Ikeja, Lagos.
Taekwondo dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria are expected to attend.
“Everything is set and we are ready to hold our inaugural meeting,” said Grand Master Emmanuel Oghenejobo-Peters, who is president of WTO Nigeria.
“It is going to be a brainstorming meeting and every attendee is expected to come with positive ideas that can help the sport grow.”
Some of the attendees include GM Peters Emmanuel Oghenejobo/ President and BOT, GM, Dr Ferguson Oluigbo/ Technical Director an BOT, GM Romeo Osuji, BOT (UK), GM Gbenga Fatile, BOT, GM Roland Dafejimue, BOT (USA), Dr Abiodun Adedapo, Sec Gen, Benedict Efe, Director Publicity, Dr Vincent Efebeh, VP South South Zone, GM Ezenwa Inya-Agha, VP South East Zone.
WTO is a paternal organization of Taekwondo Pioneers, who have founded and instituted Taekwondo around the world since April 11, 1955.
It’s a coming together of Grand Masters from all world organizations that is tied of amateur sports taekwondo.
There are over 200 million active Taekwondo practitioners from 213 countries in the world, second only to soccer, and the mission is to bring them into a unified community
