Funke Akindele’s ‘Tribe of Judah’ grossed N1b at the box office in 2023, but if failed to win a single award at the 10th African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and this is not amusing to her fans.
The event was held last Saturday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State and the biggest winner was ‘Breath of Life’ that raked in six awards Best Movie, Best Sound Design, Best Director (BB Sasore), Best Lead Actor (Wale Ojo), Best Supporting Actor (Ademola Adedoyin), Best Supporting Actress (Genoveva Umeh), and Trailblazer (Chimezie Imo).
‘Tribe of Judah’ was nominated in several categories, but Akindele and her crew left the hall crestfallen with no award to celebrate.
The AMVCA, an annual award organised by MultiChoice, recognises outstanding achievements in the television and film industry.
