Victor Osimhen reportedly has his mind made about joining Chelsea in the summer even as the London club are yet to make any contact with the Napoli top striker.
Osimhen will leave Napoli at the end of the season and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to deal with any club that can match the €120-130m price tag on the Super Eagles player. Paris St Germain are keen to sign Osimhen as replacement for Kylian Mbappe, but Osimhen has a strong liking for Chelsea because of the lure of following in the footsteps of his hero Didier Drogba and also his preference to play in the English Premier League.
Osimhen helped Napoli to win their first Serie A title in 33 years last season and also helped himself to the top scorers chart. But Osimhen and Napoli had no such fire in 2024, though he scored 17 goals from 31 games, Napoli are placed ninth on the table.
Meanwhile, Napoli are looking at replacing Osimhen with Crystal Palace’s Mateta. The 26-year-old Frenchman, who was targeted by the Partenopei back in 2020 before they picked up Osimhen, has impressed for Crystal Palace this term.
