Napoli FC are targeting Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion this summer as a replacement for Victor Osimhen who is eyeing a move to the Premier League.
Oshimhen in the 2023 season helped the Italian side to their first title in 33 years, but this season he has struggled with the club, it seems the Super Eagles striker lost motivation after a fallout with the club when he missed a penalty in the early stage of the season.
Napoli are confident of securing a fee in excess of €80m for Osminhen which will be reinvested in new players ahead of the 2024/25 season.
According to Sky Sports Italia, Omorodion has appeared on their radar, on the back of scoring eight La Liga goals on loan at Alaves in 2023/24.
Meanwhile Chelsea seems to be Osimhen’s destination in England. Football transfer market expert Rudy Galetti revealed that the London side are prepared to sign Osimhen with cash and players.
According to him, Cesare Casadei and David Fofana could be in line to move to Napoli for Osimhen to join the Blues.
“As for the transfer chapter, Chelsea want Victor Osimhen, who will leave Napoli at the end of the season, more and more,” he told AreaNapoli via Sport Witness.
“The Blues want to negotiate the terms of the release clause and it cannot be ruled out that the English club will try to include players such as Casadei or David Fofana in the negotiation to lower the price, although Napoli are not open to negotiating the price and are only asking for cash.
“With Victor a personal agreement is not so far away and the parties will continue talking in the coming.”
