Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Nollywood actor John Paul Odonwodo, a.k.a Junior Pope.
Obi who was in the company of actor Kenneth Okonkwo, prayed with the mother, wife and children of Junior Pope who died in a tragic boat accident on the Anam River April 10. He was buried Friday at his hometown, Ukehe in Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State.
Meanwhile, Singer Kecee and Emeka Okonkwo a.k.a E-Money have pledged to take care of Junior Pope’s kids till they reach maturity.
“On behalf of my brother, E-Money and our friends, I want to say sorry to the family. Junior Pope is a blessing to this generation. He is somebody that we will never forget in this generation,” said Kcee during the funeral for the late actor.
“My brother is the godfather of his first son. The friendship we have with Junior Pope has been for ages. When the unfortunate incident happened, my brother said to me that we were going to take up responsibility for his three sons till they were grown.
“But we can’t do that without the support of the family. So we are saying it openly to the family, we are ready to take care of the three kids to any level they want till they are grown to cater for themselves. We will take care of their education, feeding, clothing, and holidays. We are not doing it to show off but to honour our friend’s dying wish for a better life for his children. And we took it upon ourselves that we are going to support this family to train these children.”
