Late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba a.k.a Mohbad’s dad Joseph Aloba has refused to accept that Liam the toddler left behind by the singer is his grandson.
Mr. Aloba in an online video accused his daughter inlaw Wunmi Aloba of paternity fraud and has urged her to submit Liam for a paternity test. So far Wunmi has refused to agree to a test for the one-year-old kid.
“Wunmi said my son deflowered her so why is she running away from DNA? Liam has bow legs. We don’t have bow legs in the Aloba family,” he said in the video
“She should take the boy to his father. It is so sad that these wicked people k!Iled my son in his prime. Nigerians should please support me as I fight for justice for my son.”
“All the names Mohbad mentioned in the petition he wrote, were involved in his death. I still insist that his wife’s lover killed him. This is why DNA is a must.”
During testimony at Mohbad’s Lagos Coroner inquest a witness Owodemi Ibrahim, a childhood friend of Mohbad, during cross examination claimed that Wunmi got angry when Mohbad told her that he was not sure the child belonged to him during an argument they had while Mohbad was still alive. Ibrahim said the singer claimed that he met his wife once and she later claimed to be pregnant for him.
In April a magistrate court sitting in Ikorodu, Lagos State granted an order for Wunmi to be served notice of a pending DNA test application by substituted means. This followed two failed attempts to serve court processes on the late musician’s wife.
Mohbad died in September 2023 in controversial circumstances. The Lagos coroner inquest last week declared that the cause of his death is unknown.
