German-Nigerian player David Stockbrink has declared his desire to play for the Flying Eagles as soon as possible.
The Monchengladbach Under 19 team captain has a German father and a Nigerian mother but says it’s his dream to feature for the his motherland. He said he has been following Nigerian youth teams and he wants to be part of the football development.
‘’From the onset, I have always dreamt of wearing a Nigeria jersey,” said Stockbrink who was born October 2006.
“Mum has told me a lot of beautiful things about Nigeria and I would be
glad to be part of the experience as a footballer.
“It’s always my target to
boost such passionate people when given the opportunity.”
Stockbrink who plays in the left back recently signed a deal with Warta Poznan 1912 Academy of Poland. He said he would be comfortable playing from left or right of defence having done so with FC Monchengladbach Under 19 Niederrheim since July ,2023 till date.
Stockbrink informed that he is very enthusiastic about a Nigerian
opportunity just as he is looking forward to starting the next season with Warta Poznan Akademic Under 19 in Poland very soon.
‘’It’s been an exciting time for me at FC Monchengladbach Under 19. I
have enjoyed the responsibility of being the captain since 2023 and I am
looking forward to greater time this coming season at Warta Poznan under
19 Academy in Poland.
‘’I actually love new challenges, I have got the talent, the energy
and drive.
“I’m just praying for attention from football officials in Nigeria
that has been among world’s best football playing nations. It’s surely my
strong dream to excel in Nigeria colours I will honoured to be invited’’,
added Stockbrink.
