Jose Mourinho is hoping to round up contract talks with Turkish side Fenerbahce in the following days and he is eyeing qualification for the Champions League group stages.
Mourinho was sacked by Roma in January after leading them to winning the Euro Conference League and leading the club to the final of the Europa League in 2023. He confirmed that talks are ongoing with Fenerbahce and he prepared for the challenge.
“I decided I want to go, it is not done officially,” Mourinho told Sky Sports UK.
“Champions League is hard, because we have three rounds to go in qualification and in Fenerbahce’s case eight players in the Euros, so they are not coming before the first round.
“It’s hard, but if I go, you know I like challenges, so I will fight to go to the Champions League.”
