Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Enzo Maresca on a five-year contract and Leicester City his former club have registered their disappointment.
Maresca expressed his delight at joining Chelsea promising to take the club back to their tradition of success.
“To join Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world, is a dream for any coach. It is why I am so excited by this opportunity
” I look forward to working with a very talented group of players and staff to develop a team that continues the club’s tradition of success and makes our fans proud.”
Chelsea paid Leicester an £8m compensation package for Maresca who was in charge of the Foxes for 18 months. Despite that the former Juventus midfielder’s exit was a huge loss for Leicester City, they put out a statement Monday.
“Given the promising foundations established during his single season in charge, the Club is disappointed that Enzo has decided at this stage that he no longer wants to be part of our vision.”
