It was Kylian Mbappe wish to wear the number 10 jersey after signing for Real Madrid Monday, but he has to wait til current occupier Luca Modric retires.
Modric signed a one year contract extension with the Spanish giants after his fourth Champions League title.
Mbappe wants to join in the league of Real Madrid legends likes of Luis Figo, Clarence Seedorf, Mesut Ozil and Ferenc Puskas but it seems he has to wait just Cristiano Ronaldo who took number nine before moving to his traditional number seven.
Mbappe will wear the number nine shirt vacated by fellow Frenchman Karem Benzema.
Meanwhile, Mbappe revealed that he was forced out his former club Paris St Germain.
“They made me understand, they told me to my face, they spoke to me with violence, they told me. Luis Enrique and Luis Campos saved me. Without them, I wouldn’t have set foot on the field again this past season. That’s the truth, and that’s why I’ve always been so grateful to the coach and the sports director.
“I hear the criticism. I believe I am the most suitable person to analyze my performances. Just playing was a great source of pride. But it is certain that next year I will not settle for a year like this,” he added.
