Cote D’Ivoire sprint queen Marie Jose Ta Lou Smith is not happy in Douala, Cameroon where the African Athletics Championships is on-going.
From chaotic transportation and accomodations to technical problems, visiting athletes have to cope with discomfort as they vie for honours. Based on reports from Douala, Asaba 2018 with all it’s imperfections was near a perfect organisation.
“Coming here I had so much high expectations, so much expectations!” Ta Lou Smith posted on her X page.
“If we want to think of change…we need to do much better. We have some high level of athletes here.
“I am hurt and disappointed. My team has to take a Yango to the stadium, because transport sucks.
“There’s so much I want to say about the organisation of the championships.”
Ta Lou is competing in the women’s 100m where the likes of Favour Ofili and Gina Bass are expected to challenge her prowess.
