Nigeria Rugby Football Federation has signed a memoranda of understanding with Flovale in it’s quest to make the sport popular in the country.
NRFF president Ademola Are and Flovale chief executive officer Opeoluwa Runsewe said at signing of the MOU in Lagos that the deal will potentially empower the NRFF financially as it pursues it’s developmental programs and promotional efforts.
“The cardinal point of partnership is securing sponsorship, endorsements, corporate partnership and also work towards maximising the potentials of Nigeria rugby,” said Mr. Runsewe.
He added that sporting media, corporate bodies would be engaged to accelerate the growth of the sport from the grassroots level.
Speaking further Mr. Are submitted that Nigerian rugby has been recognised by the World Rugby Federation as the sixth fastest growing in the world and there was a need to speed up development to meeting with international standards.
“Rugby is operating in a difficult terrain in the sense that there’s lack of awareness about the sport.
“But we Nigerians playing rugby for different nations around the world and here with the talents we have we are aiming to create a passionate following.
“With the coming of Flovale and Runsewe we hope to achieve that and also meet world standard in the shortest possible time.”
