Popular social media commentator and critic Martin Otse a.k.a VeryDarkMan, has been arrested and detained by the Federal Capital Territory police over allegations of defamation.
His lawyer Deji Adeyanju confirmed the development Sunday. He said in a statement: “Our client, @thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.
“Instead of the police arresting the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on allegation of defamation.”
This is the third time VeryDarkMan would be arrested by the police over his activities on social media.
