Members of the Super Eagles Supporters Club of Nigeria have sent their condolences to the family and the entire Nigerian sports fraternity on the sudden death of Ekene Abubakar Adams.
Mr. Abubakar Adams the House of Representatives Committee on Sports chairman died at 39 years in the early hours of Tuesday, 16 July 2024. He was a first-time lawmaker representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Kaduna State.
Abubakar Adams, a former footballer, before winning election in 2023 to become House of Rep member on the ticket of the Labour Party was the general manager of Nigeria Premier Football League side Remo Stars and Kada City.
“It is a huge loss to the Nigerian sports family,” said Prince Vincent Okumagba SESC president, who is also first vice president African Football Supporters Association.
“Just when we have someone with a rich sports background in the national assembly to push our causes, death came calling.
“Our sincere heartfelt condolences to his family and friends in the Nigerian sports circle.”
