Senate president Godswill Akpabio has denied having affairs with multiple women as it has been alleged on social media.
Akpabio was linked to a string of prominent Nollywood actresses like Nancy Isime, Ini Edo and celebrity chef Hilda Baci. But speaking Tuesday on the floor of the Senate he said: “In my tradition, we marry only one wife.
“They listed so many wives on social media. At the end, it will look as if the Senate president has so many wives, but I’m reporting to my colleagues that I have only one (wife), and I’m satisfied with that one.”
Senator Akpabio came under fire for chastising fellow colleague Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan using a nightclub slur on the floor of the Senate.
“I will not intentionally denigrate any woman and I always pray that God will uplift women,” Akpabio said.
“Distinguished Senator Natasha, I want to apologise to you.
“The interest shown in the social media shows that we have enemies. I felt I should tender a public apology to you. I do not mean any harm. People should concentrate on things that will move this country forward
“Social media handlers should practice with decorum. We won’t out of anger regulate social media.”
