Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong will join Saudi club Al-Kholood after they reached an agreement with his club PAOK.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ekong is now set to be Al-Kholood’s eighth summer signing after deals with the likes of Al Ahly’s Aliou Dieng and Slovak defender Norbert Gyömbér.
Al-Kholood who gained promotion to the Saudi Pro League this season, hope Ekong’s experience in Europe will help them stay in the topflight.
Ekong had only joined Greek club PAOK in the summer of 2023 from Watford and already played and scored for them this season during the qualifications of the UEFA Champions League.
Born in Haarlem, Netherlands, Troost-Ekong has plenty of experience, playing for Watford, Salentrina, Udinese, Bursaspor, KAA Gent, Groningen, as well as the youth academies of Fulham, and Spurs before his move to Greece.
Ekong captained the Super Eagles to a second-place finish at the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivore. He has played 71 times for the national team.
