Remo Stars are hopeful of overcoming the first hurdle of their continental campaign when they host AS FAR of Morocco in the first leg preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League.
The game will be played at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
This is not the first time Remo Stars would be squared against the Moroccan side. In 2022 AS FAR denied Remo Stars the chance to advance to the group stages of the Confederation Cup. The first leg in Rabat ended 1-1, but Remo Stars concededed a 1-0 defeat at home.
“We learn from our experiences, and I believe we will do better this time around. The squad has been training, and we will be ready,” Daniel Ogunmodede stated.
Meanwhile coach Ogunmodede revealed his excitement at signing a new contract with the club.
“Saying I am glad is an understatement. This is my club, my project. I’ve been here for years now, doing my thing and working relentlessly hard with a consistent behavioural pattern,” an excited Ogunmodede told the NPFL media.
“The good thing is I am happy that the club is able to see what I’ve done so far to have counted me worthy to have another (contract) extension. It is a big motivation for me to know that they appreciate what I’ve done so far.”
