Napoli director Giovanni Manna is expected to hold talks with Chelsea on a possible deal for Romelu Lukaku Wednesday.
The Belgian striker is said to have agreed terms with Napoli and has even taken a pay cut to reunite with Antonio Conte at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
This is just as Chelsea are looking to sign Victor Osimhen on a loan deal after their efforts to sign Samu Omorodion failed to materialise.
Osimhen with an eye on the Champions League is not keen to join Chelsea. He agreed terms with Paris St Germain, but the Paris club have since cooled off their interest.
Osimhen, whose contract expires next year, is waiting for a suitable offer as the transfer deadline looms. With a buyout clause of $135m attached to his contract with Napoli all the clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United have backed down on their pursuit of the player.
It remains to be seen if Napoli and Chelsea can strike a deal.
