Organisers of the #EndBadGovernance in Nigeria protest said they will return in October after the August 1-10 protest did little to force the government to a major policy change.
One of the movements behind the protests, Take It Back Movment said Monday that it would mobilise to embark on another protest in October
“It is called the ‘Fearless in October Protest’. Our charter of demands stands as same. If at all, we will add more as the country decays more”, Damilare Adenola who is Director of Mobilization of the Take It Back Movement, told Punch
The August 1-10 protests took place in major cities across Nigeria, but in places like Abuja, Kano, Kaduna and Maiduguri it turned violent with as much as 40 people losing their lives and property destroyed or looted. Organisers accused government security agencies of provoking some of the violence.
Meanwhile the Take It Back Movement has knocked the Nigeria Police Force for postponing the arraignment of #EndBadGovernance protesters in Abuja on Monday.
The arrested proteters include human rights activist, Michael Adaramoye a.k.a Michael Lenin.
