Afrobeats singer Adedamola Adefolahan, a.k.a Fireboy DML has set August 29 for the release his fourth studio album “Adedamola.”
The 14 track album features music icons like Lagbaja, Seun Kuti, Lojay, DJ Spinall, and Jon Batiste.
The songs in the album include Iseoluwa’, ‘Call me’, ‘Ecstasy’, ‘Hell and back’, ‘Letting go’, ‘Back n forth’, ‘Ready’, and ‘Wande’s bop’. Other tracks are ‘Change your life‘, ‘Obaa sima’, ‘Need me’, ‘Yawa’, ‘Everyday’, and ‘Jon’s interlude’.
Fireboy who is signed to YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution released his debut studio album, Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps, in 2019. “Scatter” from the debut album was included in the FIFA 21 game soundtrack.
He won Listener’s Choice and was nominated for Song of the Year for “Jealous” at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival. The same year he dropped his sophomore album Apollo.
Fireboy DML gained media coverage in Nigeria when his hit single “Champion” was used by FC Bayern Munich for their UEFA Super Cup celebrations in 2020.
In 2022, Fireboy released his third studio album “Playboy”. In November 2022, his song, “Coming Back For You,” was included on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
Fireboy describes his sound as “Afro-Life” and cited Jon Bellion, Passenger and Wande Coal as his key contemporary influences.
Speaking about his future plans in a recent announcement, Fireboy expressed his intention to embark on a personal journey after the launch of his forthcoming fourth studio album.
