Victor Osimhen’s wishes to play in the Premier League this season appears to be on thin ice as his wage demand of £500,000-a-week, is scaring off pursing clubs Chelsea and Arsenal.
According to reports by The Sun of Uk, Osimhen is holding out for the wage which would make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.
Chelsea and Napoli have been in talks, but it there seems to be no head way in negotiations, even as Napoli had lowered their asking price of £110million, to the region of £85 million with Chelsea was ready to deal.
But Osimhen it seems is reluctant to join the West London club for want of Champions League football. The Sun reports that the Chelsea are now looking at alternatives as they are unwilling to match Osimhen’s wage demands.
Two cheaper options identified by the Blues are Federico Chiesa from Juventus and Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Arsenal have also declared their interest to sign Osimhen, it remains to be seen if they can pull it off before Friday’s transfer deadline.
