Miss Universe Nigeria contestant Chidimma Adetshina, said she would not be in a hurry to go back to South Africa, where she was bullied out of beauty contest.
The 21-year-old Adetshina born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother, because of her connections to Nigeria was prevented from contesting in the Miss South Africa beauty pageant held in early in August.
But the organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria Silverbird Group welcomed her to Nigeria to contest in the pageant billed for this weekend, much to her delight. She would be reperesting Taraba State.
Speaking during an interview with Cool FM Adetshina said: “I think it’s safe to say I’m not going back.
“It’s been amazing. I’m not even looking forward to going back to South Africa. I just want to explore more. I want to stay longer and see what happens next.
“I want to enter Big Brother Naija next year. If I can stay away for seven weeks at Miss SA, trust me, I am sure I can do it,”
Speaking on her experience so far, she added:
“It’s been a long journey. It’s been so hard, I won’t lie,” Adetshina said.
“Sometimes, I would cry myself to sleep and wonder, ‘Why me?’ and wish it would end.
“But during tough times, it’s important to focus on the positive side. I had to shift my mindset and believe that greatness could come from all this.”
