Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka, wishing to have more game time has left Brentford to join German club Augsburg on a season-long loan subject to international clearance.
Onyeka made 78 appearances for the Premier League side after joining from Midtjylland in July 2021.
“Frank has been an important player during our last three seasons in the Premier League,” said head coach Thomas Frank.
“He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect.
“Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter; this is a good opportunity for him to do that.
“We have a lot of young midfielders who also need minutes, so this is a good loan for Frank and the club.”
Onyeka was a strong member of the Super Eagles squad that reach the final of the African Cup of Nations 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire.
