Super Eagles interim coach Austin Eguaveon has called up defender Benjamin Tanimu to replaced Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
Osayi-Samuel, pulled out of the game following an injury suffered during a game with his Turkish club Fenerbahce. Tanimu, a former Bendel Insurance player, joined Crawley Town in the English League One on deadline day.
He will join 14 other players who will have their first workout with the coaches Tuesday evening. Others in camp include Captain William Troost-Ekong, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Lazio’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, and South Africa-based Olisa Ndah who were the first set of players to arrive on Monday.
Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukweze and Frank Onyeka, arrived on Tuesday.
