World Famous music band Jackson 5, which later became The Jacksons has lost Tito Jackson who died Sunday at 70.
Tito and his brothers including rose to fame in the 1970s. He was the third of nine Jackson children, which include the King of Pop late Michael Jackson, the first of the brothers to die at 50 in 2009.
The Jacksons were noted for their hits “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There” which dominated the billboards charts.
The group released 16 studio albums, 10 as the Jackson 5 and six as The Jacksons, becoming a household name as a unit and as individuals.
Born on Oct. 15, 1953, Toriano Adaryll “Tito” Jackson was the least-heard member of the group as a background singer who played guitar. Jermain and Michael went on to launch succesful solo careers. Tito said in an interview he purposely held back his solo career to concentrate on raising his three sons TJ, Taj and Taryll who have successfully formed their own band.
Days before his death, Tito posted a message on his Facebook page from Germany on Sept. 11, where he visited a memorial to Michael Jackson with his brothers.
“Before our show in Munich, my brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I, visited the beautiful memorial dedicated to our beloved brother, Michael Jackson. We’re deeply grateful for this special place that honors not only his memory but also our shared legacy. Thank you for keeping his spirit alive,” he wrote.
