Former Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne said his former teammate Victor Osimhen was smart to have joined Galatasaray and he is happy Osimhen is reunited with Dries Mertens.
Insigne a EURO 2020 winner with Italy’s national team, said though he is ‘surprised’ Osimhen left Napoli, it was the best thing to have done because of the atmosphere at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
“I didn’t expect it. Victor is smart, and I am sure he made his own choices,” Insigne told Il Corriere dello Sport.
“I don’t know what happened with Napoli, but I’m happy for him, especially because he’ll play with Mertens. I can see that they have fun together,”
Meanwhile former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo said Osimhen will be happy in Turkey.
“It’s a big move in Turkey, he should have played for Fenerbache.
“After playing just five games for Fenerbahce on loan, I said I wanted to stay in Turkey.”
