Chelsea won big over West Ham Saturday and coach Enzo Maresca said his side is cooking something in the English Premier League.
Nicholas Jackson scored twice and Cole Palmer put the icing on the cake to give Chelsea their second big win of the season after their 6-2 thrashing of Wolves.
“The way the players are buying the idea and the different style. That has been top,” said Maresca.
“The way we are working off the ball. Nicolas and Cole’s performance have been top. Not only because they score. If we understand that we need that, the desire, we can build something important.”
He praised Jackson who had been cricitised by fans including former Chelsea great John Obi Mikel.
“Fantastic. He is doing well. He is working hard off the ball.
“If a player misses chances, it does not mean he is not playing well. It can happen.”
He added that things are coming together for his team.
“I think we are on the right path, the right direction. But this is a long journey. Because we won today and we are in a good moment, it looks like everything is fine but not everything is fine.
“We could attack better, we could defend better, but it is just a matter of time. The most important thing is how the players buy [into the idea] since we have worked together.”
