Voice notes ascribed to Idris Okuneye a.k.a Bobrisky alleging that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Correctional Service took bribes to give him comfort during his naira abuse case continues to revibrate through the nation.
The House of Representatives Thursday mandated its Committee on Anti-Corruption and Correctional Service to probe the allegations of bribery levied against officials of the organisations that might have compromised the process.
Hon Patrick Umoh who moved the motion said the matter was of national importance and there was a need to investigate and bring those involved to justice.
The Bobrisky voice note was brought the public sphere by Martins Vincent Otse, a.ka VeryDarkMan. In it Bobrisky alleged that the EFCC dropped money the laundering charges against him after receiving ₦15 million bribe. Also, the NCS accommodated him in a cozy apartment outside the Kirikiri prison where he was to serve a six-month sentence.
Bobrisky had disowned the voice note claiming in a social media post that it was fake. But VeryDarkMan quoted the last digits of Bobrisky’s phone number from where the voice note emerged.
