Victor Osimhen showed up big for his club Galatasaray in Wednesday’s night UEFA Europa League 3-1 win over PAOK FC of Greece.
But he is still waiting to score his first goal for the Turkish giants he has so far helped with three assists.
Osimhen’s header at goal was diverted into the net by PAOK’s Ghanaian defender, Abdul Rahman Baba. Osimhen made an assist in Gala’s second goal scored by Yunus Akgun in the 75th minute. Mauro Icardi, who replaced Osimhen, scored the third goal to give Galatasaray a comfortable win.
“Unfortunately, my goal was counted as an own goal again. My goal will come. The important thing is for Galatasaray to win.
“The big man, Icardi, came in and gave us the calmness we needed. When he scored, it felt like the game was over. Congratulations to the whole team, and a big thank you to our supporters,” Osimhen said.
He is hopeful of making an impact with the club where he would spend the rest of the season on loan.
