Nigerian whistleblower Isaac Bristol a.k.a PIDOM has been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Mr. Bristol is facing charges of alleged treason; he was also accused of mobilising participation for the #EndBadGovernance protest, peddling false money-laundering allegations against President Bola Tinubu and unlawfully obtaining, retaining and disseminating classified secret documents in contravention of the official Secret Act 1962.
Presiding judge Justice Emeka Nwite granted Mr. Bristol a ₦5m bail with one surety in like sum, while ruling on a motion on notice filed by his team of lawyers led by Deji Adeyanju. He is also to deposit his International Passport with the court.
Part of the bail conditions includes that the surety must be resident in Abuja and depose an affidavit of means. The surety must also provide evidence of three years of tax clearance with two passport photographs.
Isaac had been remanded in the Kuje Correctional Centre since September 11.
