Rhythm and Blues singer Robert Kelly a.k.a R. Kelly with his conviction on charges of racketeering and sex-trafficking may not his see his daughter Joanne Kelly again.
Joanne Kelly who was speaking on the release of a documentary “R. Kelly’s Karma: A Daughter’s Journey” said her father who is serving 31 years jail sentence for his sexual crimes has changed her whole life and it would be difficult have a relationaship with her father again.
“Nobody wants to be the child of the father that is out here hurting women and children,” said Joanne Kelly, 26, of her 57 years-old dad.
“He knows exactly why we can’t have the relationship that we would have liked to have with him.”
“He was my everything. For a long time, I didn’t even want to believe that it happened. I didn’t know that, even if he was a bad person, that he would do something to me.”
“I really feel like that one millisecond completely just changed my whole life,” she says, referring to Kelly’s conviction, adding of her future child, “If my son asks questions, I’m going to be as truthful as possible. And I will not be taking my son to prison to meet his grandfather.”
