Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was on the score sheet for Bayer Leverkusen, in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Holstein Kiel at the Bay Arena.
Boniface opened scoring for Bayer Leverkusen in the 4th minute and Jonas Hoffman doubled the lead in the 8th minute. In the 26th minute, Boniface had his second strike ruled out due to an offside interference in the build-up to the goal.
After that Bayer Leverkusen perhaps then went to sleep as Kiel still looking for their first Bundesliga win after gaining promotion, fought back in the second to level the scores. The back-to-back draw by Leverkusen have left them three points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
For Boniface who scored midweek against AC Milan in the Champions League, he brought his tally to four goals from six German League games so far in the season. He is expected to join the Super Eagles for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya next week, perhaps Boniface will finally find the back of the net for the Super Eagles goal after eight games of trying.
