Singer Darlington Okoye is under police detention in Abuja after fellow singer Damini Ogulu a.k.a Burna Boy wrote a petition against him.
Speed Darlington as he is popularly known has been missing since Friday last week, prompting his mother to raise an alarm. She later took to social media to plead with Burna Boy to release his son, who according to reports linked Burna Boy to under fire US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
Diddy is facing charges of sex trafficking and racketeering; many women and children have come forward with lawsuits accusing Diddy of sexual assault. Darlington claimed that Burna Boys Grammy Award was facilitated by Diddy.
In a video, Speed Darlington asked Burna Boy to explain how he became more famous after meeting P.Diddy, even jokingly asking how many bottles of baby oil P.Diddy used on him before giving him the Grammy.
“Nigerians Please Come and Help Me, My Son Speed Darlington has been Missing for Over 4 Days now, after He Made a Video About Burnaboy and Diddy, Burnaboy came to his house with his 7 Squad and Police, and they arrested Akpi.
“Please Nigerians Akpi is my Only Son, Please Nigerians help me and Beg Burnaboy to release My son” said Speed Darlington’s mom known.
Reacting to the hullabaloo, Burna Boy, posted on his X page “Who’s missing? 7 is Real.”
Human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju confirmed that Speed Darlington is police detention in Abuja based on a petition filed by Burna Boy
“We just spent 30mins with Speed Darlington… he narrated how he was arrested in Lagos last week Friday, moved around before he was brought to Abuja. He has been in police detention. Petition was written against him by Burna Boy.”
