AFCON qualifiers: Super Eagles boycott game against Libya, Osimhen offers to fly team back to safety

Ahead of Tuesday group D African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Libya’s Mediterranean Knights the Super Eagles are not keen to play game after been left stranded at an abandoned Abraq Airport for 12 hours with no food.
The Libyans trying to pay back Nigeria for a tardy travelling arrangement when they arrive in Nigeria for the first game in Uyo, diverted the Super Eagles plane that was to land in Benghazi to another airport far from the match venue.
Team captain William Troosts-Ekong disclosed that the team has decided to abandon the match and striker Victor Osimhen who is missing the match on account of injury volunteered to fly out the team on private jet.
“At this point we have called for our Nigerian Government to intervene and rescue us,” Ekong posted on his X page.
“As the captain together with the team we have decided that we will NOT play this game. CAF should look at the report and what is happening here.”
