Transgender and social media influencer Idris Okuneye a.k.a Bobrisky was forced out a plane by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission agents as he attempted to fly out to London on Thursday night at the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.
Bobriksy became a flight risk after he alleged in an audio recording that he bribed the EFCC to strike off a money laundering charge against him when he was arraigned and sentence to a six-month imprisonment for abusing the naira.
In October he also made an attempt to leave the country through the Nigeria/Benin Republic border at Seme, but he was stopped by Immigration officials and clamped into police detention for investigation.
Bobrisky lamented his latest ordeal in midnight post Thursday
“Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured,” he wrote.
Bobrisky was was already seated in the aircraft when he was forced out. The EFCC got wind of his intent to travel when social commentator Isaac Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti State Governor, shared a photo of himself and Bobrisky as they boarded the same flight to London.
“Look who’s on the same flight with me to London, @Bobrisky222,” Fayose shared on his Instagram handle.
After Bobrisky was taken off the plane Fayose posted: “I feel very sad about Bobrisky’s arrest. I will personally write to the International Court of Justice”
