US President-elect Donald Trump is considering sending illegal migrants to Rwanda when he takes office in January.
Trump made deporting immigrants a corner stone of his campaign and now according to the UK Sun reports he is willing to copy the plan mooted by former UK Conservative government, which has been ditched by the Labour Party government of Keir Starmer after about $750m was spent to construct holding facilities in Rwanda.
A source close to Trump’s camp said: “Trump campaigned on a promise to crack down on illegal immigration – and he is determined to stick to it.
“His team is looking at the Rwanda scheme. He is considering deporting illegal migrants to Rwanda and other countries so they cannot stay on American soil.”
