Tottenham did the unthinkable thrashing Premier League defending Champions Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
James Maddison scored a brace, Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson completed the rout to hand City their fifth defeat in
a row and a blow to Pep Guardiola who signed a contract extension till 2027 this week. It is the worst run in his career.
“In eight years we have never lived this kind of situation,” Guardiola said.
“Now we have to live it and break it winning the next games, especially the next one. Now we see things in one way, maybe in a few weeks we see it differently
“We are not used to doing this situation but life is like this. Sometimes it happens and we have to accept it. It is what it is now and we will stand up and do it.”
City travel to Anfield next week to face Liverpool. They have not won at game there since 2003.
On Tuesday they will also play Fayenoord in the Champions League
” There were a few reasons we’re not able to be consistent. Now the balance is not in the right moment. But it happened. We have to do it, talk and on Tuesday against Feyenoord have the chance to try.
“So I don’t know what will happen at Anfield. Everyone knows the situation is new for us.”
