A tiler who left his job and forced himself on the wife of the man who engaged him is heading to the Ikoyi Correctional Centre after he was remanded by a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old tiler, identified as Qudus Kazeem was who was employed to lay tiles in the apartment of one Mr. Damilare Gbadamosi, left his work and forced himself on his employer’s wife.
Magistrate Mrs. Sanusi Adagun, remanded the defendant following his arraignment on a four-count charge of unlawful sexual intercourse, threat to life, obtaining money under false pretenses, and stealing.
Adagun, therefore, directed the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and forward a copy to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice. She adjourned the case until Dec. 18 for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Reuben Solomon, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in the month of December 2022, at No, 8/10, Kola John, off Feyintola Giwa St., Surulere, Lagos.
According to him, the defendant threatened to ruin the victim’s marriage if she did not send money to him or willingly have intercourse with him .
Solomon said the alleged offences contravened Sections 56 (1) (a), 260, 280 and 314 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. NAN
