National Sports Commission director-general Hon. Bukola Olopade said Wednesday that there need to be a new approach to the running of the sporting federations in the country.
Mr. Olopade who was meeting with directors and heads of department of the NSC harped on running sports administration in Nigeria with strategic, standardised and scientific approach.
As a first step he noted that getting the right persons on board of the sporting federations is key and the NSC would ensure that reforms are carried out to make the sporting federations more viable.
“Our goals is to have top industry CEOs on board of our Sports Federations
“The Chairman and I strongly believe we need to have a different approach to our Federation Elections.
“This is why the emphasis of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a balanced approach to both sports consumption and sports production,” said Olopade.
The meeting reflects the new direction of the NSC, with Olopade pledging to champion and support policies that will foster professionalism and sustainable development across Nigeria’s sports landscape.
