Ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said he would be welcoming a different Manchester United.
Arteta observed that United are real contenders as he can see coach Ruben Amorim’s “fingerprints” on them and he expects an exciting game.
Since taking over from Erik ten Hag, Amorim seem to have steadied United leading them to an unbeaten run in three games. The Portuguese born coach faces his first real EPL against a top four team.
“You can see his fingerprints in what he wants to do straight away,” said Arteta. “He’s been very clear with what he wants to do.
“What he did with Sporting was remarkable after so many years. Especially the way he did it and the way his teams are playing.
“It brings energy to a new club and the players which is always positive. But we have to focus on what we’re doing.”
Amorim and Arteta have met before in the 2023 Europa League round of 16. Amorim guided Sporting Lisbon into the last eight after beating Arsenal in a shootout. Both legs ended goalless.
